Kyle begins to suffer mental problems after taxing himself to the limit, and Jessi attempts to use Kyle’s ailment to her advantage.

Kyle XY The popular television show that airs on ABC Family, Kyle XY centers on a teenager, Kyle, who wakes up in the forest without any indication of his identity. Kyle doesn’t know why or how he arrived in the forest; he just knows that there is something different about him. Kyle’s character is played by Matt Dallas who has no recollection of his childhood and also finds that he has no recollection of even being a child. The struggles that Kyle has to come to terms with this fact are mirrored throughout the episodes and seasons. The show is set outside of Washington and is filmed in Vancouver, Canada for the last three seasons. To increase the air of mystery around Kyle, there are many images that show Kyle without a belly button. The mystery continues when Kyle is taken in by the family of the psychologist that treats Kyle after he has been abandoned in the forest with no memory. The family begins to notice that Kyle lacks regular human emotions. It seems that Kyle is unable to become angry, upset or experience love. Kyle seems to have a lack of human instincts that cannot be described and the family begins to demonstrate these emotions and teach Kyle what it means to be human. Nicole Trager, the psychologist that works with Kyle while he is in the detention center and her family tries to unravel the mysteries that the new addition to their family came with. Kyle is open to therapies to try and remember his past and figure out where he came from. Soon the mysteries begin to unravel and Kyle begins to remember the past. Where did Kyle come from? Through the episodes we learn that Kyle was institutionalized and part of a top secret cloning experiment that was conducted in the past, but it has yet to be revealed why Kyle was released from the program and left in the forest without any memory of the experiences that had taken place. Kyle lives his life with the Trager’s and learns what it is like to be human, taking all measures possible to understand who he is and just where he came from. Later into the series it is determined that Kyle has developed psychic abilities and unexplained mysterious powers. He has the mind of a genius and seemingly unlimited capabilities which are outstanding for the mind of a sixteen year old boy. Kyle XY premiered in June 2006 followed by a second season in June of 2007. Season three of Kyle XY premiered in January 2010 but unfortunately will not be returning for a fourth season as ABC Family will wrap up the viewings with the series finale in March 2009 even though Kyle XY was one of the highest rated original television series on the network. The demise of Kyle XY began with the introduction of the original series, “The Secret Life of an American Teenager” as ratings began to decline when viewers were being lost and ratings were quickly dropping. In a little over a year the popular television show slipped from having just over five million viewers to 1.4 million. The series will be followed up with a series of books, two of which have been released including; Kyle XY: Nowhere to Hide and Kyle XY: Under the Radar. These books are available wherever books are sld and are a great way to supplement the series.
